While giving birth a new life for a woman is indeed a joyful incident, the problem of baby blues may often create a lot of issues for the mother particularly after the first few days of the birth of the baby.

Many women feel miserably, tired, tense and weepy. This is because of major hormonal changes that go on inside which could be the main culprit. PND or Postnatal Depression or postpartum depression usually goes off on its own when the baby is around 6 weeks old. You have to understand the fact that PND is an illness and there could be many different causes and in many cases it will not go away until it is treated.

Being is a mother is checkered journey of ups and downs. There are many physical and emotional changes that a woman has to contend with. Being able to differentiate actual PND from others is something very important.

  • Feeling of rejection, feeling irritated, feeling tearful and feeling lonely.

You may find difficulty in managing your daily life and could see your energy levels at an all time low. You could find difficult concentrating in things, and you could find difficulty in making decisions. Many moms suffering from PND suffer from poor quality of sleep.

Additionally, if you are certainly suffering from PND you should watch out for the following symptoms:

  • You could be a victim of panic attacks, rapid heartbeat, sickness, fainting and sweating.
  • Stomach pains, blurred vision and headaches also point towards PND.
  • Loss of appetite, suicidal feeling and decreased sex drive.

Different women may have differing symptoms, but if you feel that you are suffering from PND you should immediately get in touch with your health visitor or general physician. It would not be advisable to manage the problem on your own.
